The cleaning of our apartment is nearly completed! This is a major advance for all geek kind, lemme tell ya. However, I wanted to relay an event that happened two minutes ago before I forget it.

We're cleaning the Dining Room Table Vortex, or "Metro Table" as we've taken to calling the mess on and underneath the dining table. She found a Japanese looking snack object still wrapped in golden Mylar. A cheerful sun smiled from the side of this wrapper, as did an ear of corn.

"You're eating this right now or it's going into the trash," Maggie ordered. So I took it with me into this room (the office) and finished putting some computer parts away before I opened the wrapper. She followed me into the room, insisting I follow through on eating this object.

I opened the foil and found a motley-dusted puffed corn delicacy. She winced. I figured I'd better get to crunching with my teeth.

I took a bite. I gave it half of another bite before I stopped. I froze for a millisecond. The first hints o the actual flavors began to hit me. Before I could even name them, I knew the flavors were wrong for each other and I needed to get this nasty thing out of my mouth before any more saliva activated things.

Maggie started to laugh immediately. I spat out the object into the sink and yelled "Barbecue and cheeeeeese! Damn Japanese and your funny flavors!" I think it was slightly barbecue, slightly cheese, and slightly curry. It was all wrong.

Maggie laughed so hard that mucus came up.

Okay, the time out from the final push of the Massive Apartment Overhaul is over. (I suppose that makes this LJ entry an MAO Inhibitor.)

(Maggie laughed really hard at that one, too. However, no phlegmatic response.)
