The Washington Post has an article about Mitch Bainwol, Hillary Rosen's replacement as lead imbecile slash lobbyist for the RIAA. At least Rosen owns an iPod and likes music; Bainwol's described as "the least hip-seeming man".

I need a new word to describe the reactionaries still living in the Twentieth Century. There are people dying to crush the computer the way they beat up hippies back in the Sixties. They're not willing to see the potential of internetworking as a good thing. Loathsome, isn't it?

Anyone got ideas?

It's much like how the CEO of ClearChannel doesn't know much about music at all. On one hand, it's kind of sad that managing such a business is so divorced from its product. OTOH, he's not being paid to know about music. He's being paid to manage a small empire.
