The baked ziti was a smash success! I then I remembered something about baked ziti -- I don't like it. I love ziti in a pan with tons of cheese and sauce, but I dislike the crunchy pasta that form the top. In contrast, that's what everyone else loved so I did a fine job.
I'm thinking about taking a week off work in a couple weeks. I'm not sure whether I should go to the Gaspesie (the peninsula between the Saint Lawrence River and the Bay of Newfoundland -- the edge of the continent) or a trip to Europe (just some Belgium to see art and streetcars, some Netherlands to see more of the same). The more I think about it, the more Europe appeals to the technophile in me. Quebec, in contrast, appeals to the driver in me.
Flights to Yurp seem cheapest if I fly from here to London and then figure it out from there. Anyone have advice on best methods, say, from you in the experienced column (best days to depart, whether it's worth hauling to NYC first or landing in Paris)?
Update: Easyjet has such ridiculously low rates from London to the south of France that I wonder whether I'm hallucinating (£18 one way to Marseille from Gatwick). Meanwhile, the dollar is worth crap so that's $35. Oh, and what was once one of my favorite web sites, http://www.metropla.net, has been taken over by advertising and I want to cry. I mean, it doesn't even WORK anymore -- no maps, only links to companies. Oh, and the amazing link to the tale of the Pyongyang metro is totally gone.
