Maybe that's not food poisoning, eh?
Oct. 24th, 2007 02:44 pmLast night I went out to dinner after theater practice. Oh yeah, I should plug this event before I whine about my guts:
Post Meridian Radio Players, also known as Hub of the Universe Productions, presents Tomes of Terror II on Monday 29 October through Hallowe'en at 7:30 p.m. at The First Congregational Church, 89 College Ave in Somerville -- just up the street from Davis Square.
I will be the narrator in the third play, "The Stone Ship". I have been working my ass off on getting a consistent yet understandable semi-pirate accent that can go from old man to young man fluidly. It's gotten good. It's deeply focused on a rhotic R, so it sounds more Irish but it's got the Midlands hard T. Maybe it's really West English -- say, Devonshire. It's hard to say because it'll crumble if I over-analyze it before the show.
So wait, i was going to whine about my tummy. I thought I'd overeaten. I was tired but still felt bloated when I fell asleep.
Then I woke up around 7 and my lower guts were giving me a much worse case of what for. It got painful enough that I was hallucinating a little. Then it ebbed enough that I cold sleep for another hour. Then I woke up again, hit the bathroom and the pain slowly subsided after that. Then my body was so exhausted from the pain that I slept several hours.
I'm used to thinking of this as food poisoning. Now I am thinking there is something my body doesn't like. It's weird that the pain will be coupled with a desire to put something else in my body. I can feel an exact position of intestinal pain when it happens. Anyone got an idea?

Date: 2007-10-26 01:33 pm (UTC)As for the old machinery, I can't fit another monitor at my place. One of my motivations right now has been "if I let Robin use my old 17" CRT, then I don't have to throw out a really good monitor that I cannot use". LCD monitors have become cheaper, use less juice and take up a significantly smaller footprint on a table.
Frankly, get the dead iMac off to the DPW as soon as possible and sell that other monitor on Craig's List. The dead box SMOKED, for crying out loud -- it's a fire hazard!
