I got home from a long but really fun time with [livejournal.com profile] kestrell pretty late -- 3 AM. I left her place around 2:15 but I-93 northbound is closed tonight (both the tunnel and the bridge after it) so I got stuck in the idiot circus on Atlantic Ave. Since this is a regular weekend occurance, the city should synchronize the damn lights to expedite getting us off their surface roads.

I checked my bank account, totally assuming I'd be broke until Monday. Instead, the big check finally cleared. It must've been around midnight, as I was still at the old level when I left work. I was so juiced that I started paying a bunch of bills. This way, I can go to bed knowing I've resolved a bunch of outstanding craziness.

I paid the cel phone online. Then I wrote checks for the electric company and the excise bill. I went looking for the remaining credit card bill but I kept knocking things over because I'm tired. So I grabbed a parking ticket I've been sitting on for two weeks. I typed it into Cambridge's web site. They pulled up two tickets based on my license plate, each for $15.

Here's what's funny. The one ticket is in my hand. The other is from a meter at an undisclosed location going back to January 25, 2000. I didn't even have these plates until June of 2001. There are so many permutations of how this is not my ticket that I can't even guess what's up with it. However, I'm in such a good mood that I can see the future clamps put on my registration or something from this clerical error and that it would take too much effort to fight it, so I'll simply pay this other guy's ticket as well. He's probably a Comcast customer, so I likely hosed him somewhere else.

Ah, freedom! Oh, and sleep. I gotta sleep. Yeah, I'm nuts to pay a bill that's not mine. I believe in avoiding fights on minor issues. It helps my karma.

By the way, [livejournal.com profile] kestrell? You rule. I'll be seeing more of you.
