Warning: all of this will be geek. Sorry. In fact, I'll hide it all behind a cut tag and promise there won't be any important announcements hiding behind the cut this time. hee hee...

I've tried to install Gentoo on two computers. One was a Shuttle P4 1.8GHz which was dual-bot XP Home; the other my dual-Celeron 500 MHz with 512 MB RAM. Notice that I say "tried": every time I start, I get hung up on the part about setting the clock at the beginning of chapter 5. I've set up enough partition tables that putzing with cfdisk and fdisk no longer phases me in the least. It's that clock... you gotta check it on out...

Many of you geekier folk already know that Linux doesn't trust the BIOS clock.

I'll have to finish this later.

By the way, [livejournal.com profile] chaggalagirl and [livejournal.com profile] tkitch had sabotaged my incomplete, boring post. To think I buy them food and booze.

Yow. $250 for PARKING? On what, the governor's lawn? Oh wait, I guess you don't go fast when you're parked, so I get it.
Be careful though, please.

Apparently, I'm enough of a geek to be sucked into your crypto-public announcement.

Er, that was an announcement-of-sorts, wasn't it?

Wow, that was like an Alternate Reality experience, where you go back to a point where you just were, but the past wasn't like you remembered it. Kind of cyber-Groundhog Day-esque.

Never mind. As Sargeant Schultz used to say " I know Nothinnnnnnnng".

Well, today at work sucked. the boss was all kinds of up my ass about a lot of stupid shit I didn't wan to hear about, so I decided it wasn't worth the effort and told him to shove it. And apparently he didn't take all that incredibly kindly to it and was getting bitter about a lot of it, so I decided to flip the bird at him with the phrase 'Sit and Spin, bitch.' Then I threw my headset at him, bounced the shitty new phone system off the ground and the proceeded to flip the bird to the entire place as I stormed out the door.

As I was extremely bitter about the whole day I was going a little bit fast on the way home and managed to get a 250$ parking ticket. I was happy. *grumble*

"sit and spin, bitch" indeed. :)

See, now I get the "live" in Livejournal. 'Cause I just happened across an impulsive post at the right moment, then got caught up in this reality warp after it was edited a moment later.

I liked Big Fish, too.

I'm juuuuust coming to the conclusion that [livejournal.com profile] pseydtonne didn't post the impulsive part; instead, it was a whim of [livejournal.com profile] chaggalagirl and/or [livejournal.com profile] tkitch. Right?

Totally confused.

Yeah, I think that's the story-behind-the-story.
Man, to think that perhaps nothing more would have been said here if I hadn't read the original post when I did.

I want to know, though: how does one look up archived posts? It must be reasonably easy...
