Something weird covered the ground last night. It had snow-like qualities, but otherwise I think it's fallout.

Yesterday I got in my car to run a ton of errands. It was 46F according to the car when I turned it over around 1 pm. That could mean it was anything from 41F to 46F: sunlight affects its results upward and driving sends it a little downward. It's a fluffy feature, not my master cylinder.

By 4 o'clock the temperate had dropped just below freezing. By the time I went to get gas at 9:30 pm, it was saying 18F and the wind was making me pissed.

On my drive back, there was what looked like fog in the air. Then I noticed a white dust swirling on the expressway, which was more noticeable once I took my exit and got on the slower route 9. When I pulled up to my house, I saw that everything was covered in a thick veneer of the stuff. It was soft but didn't feel normal somehow. It was also amazingly sooty.

This morning it was still cold as heck but all the veneer snow was gone. Thus I have to ask: did someone drop an atom bomb while I was in the hypermart and I was merely looking at cold fallout?

Yeah, when I was out late to get some bananas at the 7-11, I noticed it too, which was odd because I didn't remember any clouds on the way to the HP showing at lsc or on the way back. Is it possible that ash from Shinmoedake nucleated this weird snow? Or did I just miss the clouds?

This made me think of a filk I heard this weekend based on this story:

Probably not comforting at all, but it's a good story, and a good song. I didn't experience any of the frozen fog, because I was inside all weekend.

I was in a bar in Everett with Seth Putnam that night; he sneezed and then the ground was all white and powdery.

Go roll up some dollar bills, you know what to do.

I should've but instead I just drank the rest of his Jack & Coke while he was turned away.

Test, just a test
