Thanksgiving dinner.

We're used to being whipped at the cultural pillory for our fast food colonization. However we have refined the serving of one meal each year to something every omnivorous American celebrate and then promptly forgets: turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

Ah, but there are so many interpretations of what Thanksgiving dinner is.

To some families it just isn't Thanksgiving without a tray of Nona's lasagne. Cornbread stuffing or chestnut stuffing? Or something else entirely? Whole berry cranberry sauce or the jellied sauce from the can? Or both? Yams with marshmallow casserole, or mashed squash? Green bean casserole with the crispy French onions on the top (made with a can of cream of mushroom soup)? Pearl onions? Creamed or not?

Do you slice the turkey at the table, or pre-slice it in the kitchen? Serve buffet style or all sitting down at a big table?

The questions go on and on because we are Americans and we are all different here. :-)
