pseydtonne: Behold the Operator, speaking into a 1930s headset with its large mouthpiece. (bright-blessings)
Kangaroo meat plus rosemary on a George Foreman grill? Excellent. Cook it medium rare to avoid trichinosis but not more than that or it's lump. It's such ironlicious stuff. Curry powder helps too.

I have now driven sixty miles on the left side of the road. This was invigorating! The roads are slightly narrower than at home and there are no exit numbers. Otherwise it's driving.

Two things I had to overcome which I did not expect are:
  1. The turn signal lever is on the right instead of the left. Every time I wanted to turn, I wound up turning on the wipers. That took the longest to overcome.
  2. I've been driving for fifteen years so I've gotten very used to tracking the left side lane line or road seam with the left corner of the windshield. This led me into the rub strip here a couple times. I had to get my right eye to do this job with the right corner of the windshield.

The northern suburbs of Sydney are amazingly like New Jersey or Saugus. They have few expressways but lots of multilane semi-exited roads that go back and forth in their expressway status. This is actually reassuring when you're still adjusting and also dealing with all these up and down hills in the middle of a rain forest.

I'm driving to the Blue Mountains today. After that I'm seriously debating driving Hume Highway the 600 miles to Melbourne so that I can get a lot more practice. We'll see after today's adventure.
