You are a brave man and I want to thank you. You spoke on behalf of many people (including your constituents) when you defended same-sex marriage in the State House today. I am honored to have you stand on Melrose's behalf for an important issue.

You're probably getting a lot of nasty mail right now. Don't worry about any of it, sir. You understand that civil rights stand apart from any religion and that such a stance is vital to the growth of our Commonwealth.

By the way, ummm... could you get a deal with the rep from Stoneham to repave Ravine Road between Woodland Road and Fellsway East? Especially the eastbound lane. That thing is a series of frost heaves. I realize neither Stoneham nor Melrose want to lay claim to this patch of asphalt, but it's a major part of my life. So are gay people. Gay people have helped me find sanity. Ravine Road helps me get home from bothering the nice gay folks. Make the road even and the marriages equal and I'll give you $100 cash.

-yeah, that last line won't be in the real letter

*laugh* That letter rocks. The first couple of paragraphs are fairly standard, but that last one was really damn funny. I hope you send it just like that (well, OK, I can understand not including that last line ;P).

Come to think of it...

I had meant that it wouldn't include the last paragraph. However, your response makes me think I should send it whole. Good thinking! Thank you.
