Seven dollar potato
Jun. 9th, 2010 01:35 amHow does Chris Onstad keep doing Achewood? Every time I think I'm going to guess the outcome, I'm completely wrong and I'm pleased as punch.
His latest story line is taking him a while. I suspect he works on stuff, says "nah" and starts again.
No matter what, it always seems to be jokes just for me. The "protein roll" of footage behind Philippe is a classic example: there's the cover from the Dead Kennedys "Plastic Surgery Disasters". That was the episode on my birthday, too.
Am I predictable enough that there is a comic that feels like it gets in my head? Did I just grow up at a time close enough to the author and enjoyed the same entertainment that it needed to be tossed about?
