pseydtonne: Behold the Operator, speaking into a 1930s headset with its large mouthpiece. (Default)
At least I have something to keep me busy tomorrow: working on audio clips for a friend of mine. We did the recording in my bedroom today. We were able to keep the noise down long enough to get a decent sound. I'm also thinking I may do my own recordings this way if no one can tell the difference.

That, washing the dishes, doing one last load of laundry and cleaning the dining room table are all that remain before I complete my packing and drag my bags to SchlepFest.

Thirty hours until Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. EDT, when I leave my house and start the journey of eleven thousand miles each way. I arrive in Sydney at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday (6:30 am Thursday Sydney time), thus spending 21 hours in the air and probably 36 hours in transit.

I have worked out a damn good set of plans for catching everything with time to spare. I've also lined up a couple books to keep me from going crazy. I'm tempted to take my laptop out of carry-on and save it for Sydney if I weren't worried it'd suffer damage.

I'm really doing this. I'll have plenty of time to deal with my future job when I get back. I have been unsuccessful at working on my resume because I just have. I can't lie to myself that I'll get anything done on it tomorrow. The future mind is empty for that moment because it's time for me to see things. Is that wrong of me?
