I got the three-prong Aussie plug in Newton Highlands today. I also walked in the Pride March as part of my girlfriend's UU contingent from Malden. It's been a full day, even though it was overcast and foggy all day.

I got a call from [livejournal.com profile] quem98 this evening. Her Lasik surgery took twenty minutes but she'll still be forced into blindness until Monday (she has to keep her eyes covered and away from movement). She is going wingnut from a lack of visual stimulation. It was good to talk, even though I was barely awake during the call.

I had a very good time hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] shadesong and her husband on Friday. I'm remembering what I like about being in a community. I also like showing someone around a new town because it lets me enjoy the town again. In turn she showed me Watertown Public Library, a place so nice it puts a dual-floor B&N to shame.

Rachel thinks I should be writing more reviews of restaurants, using my eccentric and avowed perspectives for the entertainment of blogkind. I'll have plenty of opportunity while I'm on the other side of the world, I suppose.

I'm mostly packed, although I've got some laundry to do before I can finish. I want to start shifting my time to Sydney's hours early but reality isn't that simple. I have stuff to do tomorrow afternoon. I'm tired at 2:20 am here in Boston but it's only 4:20 pm over there. I may just fuck up my sleep Monday night to force me to zonk on the first plane.

Oh hey, anyone heard from [livejournal.com profile] bluepapercup?
