pseydtonne: Behold the Operator, speaking into a 1930s headset with its large mouthpiece. (Default)
I bought an Airport card today. I wound up buying it new from Computer Loft in Allston. The guys are nice, but they want to do everything for you. I liked being able to test the card's powers immediately, but then the guy popped by battery out in a fit of geeking. He'd seen me turn the laptop on. He apologized. It's a Mac -- it recovered immediately. Still, I can take car of hardware myself. It's not that I don't recommend the place (6 Fordham Rd, just off Brighton Ave near the 88 or what was once Packard's Corner off the B line) -- it's just that I am a hardware geek, not a Yuppie with Toy Anxiety. If you aren't into dealing with hardware and want to fix your Mac, go there. Otherwise, buy your parts at Microcenter.

I tried to post this notice while I was in the 88 Food Court, since they have wifi there. However, I couldn't get a consistent signal. I'll have plenty of chances to deal with that later. I'm at Geoff's and [livejournal.com profile] fangirl715's, my old apartment. He's cleaning up and... wait, I'm supposed to be cleaning up too, aren't I?

Long story short, the wireless me started today. Oh, and the me that bought way too many Japanese snack foods for others to eat. Oh, and the me with a haircut.

Maggie and I had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] moominmolly and [livejournal.com profile] dilletante last night. What a find to have a Mexican restaurant with the words "We Have No Burritos" on the door. Great place, fine sangria, silliness abounded. Fun!

I think I stopped making sense. I'll stop here. May the magic commence! (Cue smoke and lobsters.)
