pseydtonne: Behold the Operator, speaking into a 1930s headset with its large mouthpiece. (Default)
I had booted into my Windows partition for the first time in weeks. I could geek about that, but I won't. Let's just say it was housecleaning time. Anyway, this allowed me to play with one of the best features of a home router -- stealing MP3s from Maggie's amazing collection. Ten songs in about twenty seconds? No sweat.

So I turn on Winamp (by the way, [livejournal.com profile] chaggalagirl? I updated your Winamp to 2.91 last night. That fixed a couple issues.) and I hit play on Matthew Sweet's cover of "Magnet & Steel".

Yes, I like Matthew Sweet. I liked him since I saw the video for his cover of "Girlfriend" when i was in high school. I am finally comfortable enough in my sexuality to admit his eyes fucking drew me in and still sucker me in. No, I can't see his eyes right now. Eyes led to voice. I'm hooked. Case in point: he's covering a relatively evil 70's song. His version is better than but only slightly different from the original. So yeah, I'm playing it over and over.

This got me thinking about the word 'steel'. The word in French is 'acier'. That's one of my fave words in French, next to 'quotidien' (daily) and how smooth "j'espere que tu te noie" sounds. "Zhuh-SPARE kuh tuu tuh NWA." Ahhh. It means "I hope you drown." What a fine curse to mutter.

There could be more to say when you click here. )
-I also like the would "sausage", Ps/d
