Darkest day of the year... again.
Dec. 21st, 2007 11:40 amThe official moment of Winter Solstice is 1:06 a.m. EST on Saturday and not its traditional moment. I have seen two winter solstices this year, the first when I was in Melbourne back in June.
I've already had enough snow, ice and slush this month that I'm ready to wipe my hands of it. I'm going on vacation as of 2 p.m. today: off to Binghamton, where
fuzzplugjones and I will replace all six guest mics in my college's radio station, install new tube preamps to suit these condenser mics, replace a dead compressor/limiter and rewire accordingly. Then we'll do a bunch of radio shows, including the Mad Trivia Party on Christmas night (tune in at 10 p.m.!).
I'll also be reading from the book Rip It Up and Start Again on the air and playing many of the albums it mentions. I got hung up on this book and realized almost no one has access to half the albums mentioned in the book but the Mighty H will have 'em! I'll post air times once I have them so you can click on the link and catch the live stream.
