I have a couple dissected computers on my living room floor.

Uhhhh...

I went home to Utica this weekend. My mom now has a thoroughly un-modern Quadra 700 instead of a Mac IIsi. I was going to slap better RAM into it, but I'd left it here. Next time, she'll have more than 8 MB on that 25 MHz 68040. It has a fresh CMOS battery and all of her work.

I picked up the Soyo mobo from Scudder's girlfriend in Albany. I slapped in the AMD Athlon Palomino 1900 and a stick of RAM. Everything spins, but there is no video and no beeping. The CPU is likely verkakte. Hey, it's a chance to learn. Once it works, I have my TV-recordin', tune-tossin' box. Maybe a trip to a store is in order...

...or sleep. I'm tired. Laundry got done. Geeking has resumed. When I finish, I can begin to create.

glad you're breaking radio silence. I'm gonna call you this evening. I need cable. however, since that is not your sole purpose in life, perhaps we could hang out one evening this week and chizzity chat, if you don't mind either watching me pack boxes or helping me schlep them. I'll even let you tinker with the IIe :)eh?
