P-R-zero-N again an' again. Whack whack!
Apr. 9th, 2004 02:17 amI was working on this boring entry about the end of Red Hat's end-consumer line when I started reading about Ashcroft's plan to prosecute every single piece of pr0n he finds. It's like the guy doesn't care whether his boss gets re-elected.
In fact, this is what fascinates me about conservatives. They'll talk all about slashing government until they see nipples. Then they want to waste taxpayer dollars on businesses that happen to sell porn instead of guns. Why? If you honestly mean that government should be limited, why do you want to employ the government for your moral crusades? Why can't you ignore things that will offend you? All of us have gotten good at ignoring you folks.
Tactics like Ashcroft's will divide the right into libertarian and reactionary forces. Anything that pits these pillars of the GOP against each other is good for the country. Perhaps I could help by saying "the Moral Majority wants to use tax dollars to build a Christian Army". Maybe it would just be simpler to remind the Bush administration that most Americans are scared of reactionary Islamic extremists because they're big into censorship and restriction. Read porn or the terrorists have already won (R-POT-THAW).
I should admit that I'll always have a soft place in my heart for pornographers. After all, they put me through Catholic school. Back in the Eighties, my dad was a lawyer for a couple massage parlors and the guys that did The Devil in Miss Jones 3, the Dank Bros ("Purveyors of Fine Smut").
What more do I have to say? Bush can't reign in his attorney general. He had to know the schmuck was about to dump this on the public. We're trying so hard to get out of a nasty recession and here comes a jagov trying to close the most successful businesses. You honestly think you're going to stop HBO when Video On Demand is driving so much of the cable industry back into black? You're going to fight Larry Flynt with the lawyer that FAILED LAST TIME in Ohio?
The business of America is getting people to masturbate for a nickel. Dig it, okay? Stop pretending this release is somehow bad for the country when it's obviously all that's keeping us from Al Qaeda.
-fist pumping the air.... for America, Ps/d
