I just found out KCRW (the NPR station in Los Angeles) sacked Sandra Tsing Loh. If you aren't familiar, she's done bits on This American Life and has a couple books out. Witty, fun, all that. She had a prerecorded piece about Bette Midler and the tech didn't bleep a 'fuck' in the tape.
Bill Maher had a rant session about it featuring Ms Loh, George Carlin, and even former Canadian PM Kim Campbell. It was a good show.
American business has suddenly decided it wants to purge the radio of any interesting speech. Yeah, a lot of it is shock jocks. Still, a lot of it is just corporations getting free of their riskier assets. All this came because America saw a tittie.
So it's time for all of us to admit we aren't offended at all. We aren't. We're Americans. We like pornography and we curse like sailors. Fuck fuck fuck tits queef cumguzzler poontang hot backdoor. All fine American words, damn it!
Let's stop hiding behind morality we don't even believe, okay?
