Pad Thai for two? Never mind.
May. 5th, 2011 06:39 pmEver had one of those days where things are technically okay but really you can't quite see everything?
For the last few days I've been hungry too often. I've been eating some foods in the wrong proportions, so I'd been trying to level out. Mostly I'd done a decent job, getting more salad objects and such. However chocolate is making me its bitch and fighting has been hard.
Anyway, I was just crazy hungry this afternoon. I'd run some morning errands, so I ate earlier than usual. I got so hungry that I found my brain chanting "Thai food! The heavy noodles! Now, biotech! Not fast enough!"
Long story short: the Thai place delivers to my office way too often. They know us. It didn't even matter that I said shrimp pad thai and they gave me chicken. Most of the meat in my diet has been chicken because I try to avoid red meat and savor the best stuff as luscious, worthy evil. I didn't want chicken but I was so hungry that it didn't matter.
It didn't even matter that I had to order at least $15 in food to get delivery. I got some spring rolls (too heavy for spring -- call them November rolls perhaps) and tom khar soup.
It didn't even matter that I could've cooked something from my stock in the fridge. I needed the Thai equivalent of Kraft Dinner. Comfort food, space-out food... coma food.
It probably does matter that I ate all but two bites of the tray. That looked like two servings once I looked back. I will spend the next hour tuning out the guilt and sucking on my water bottle.
