Today has been a lot of...

...must...stay...awake...

I got eight hours last night but not so much during the weekend. Pi-Con was a big success. I had a good time. I couldn't turn off the leering part of my brain, but I was able to stay sane most of the time.

As I get older, I understand more that everything is a gift and cannot be ordered. I cannot demand anything, even if I pay for it. I can only bridge the gaps and smooth the path, get things ready to cross over by themselves. In turn I am not obligated strictly because someone wants to scare me into doing more than I can. If the waitress is under stress, I'll help her be chill by being calm yet receptive myself and keep myself busy while I wait for food. I am more likely to see results by letting things simmer over time than stressing over a flash of heat.

I'm getting better; I still have work to do.

Everything is calm today, whether it should be or not. It might as well be raining all over North America.

I did get a working solution to an older problem. This should close one of my most annoying issues in a couple days. The customer was angry originally and I agreed whole-heartedly. The escalation team wasn't taking this seriously, so I had to get scary. Somehow that plus the combination of precise lab work got us to something useful. Now the customer is excited, possibly because I am as well.

Too bad that excitement doesn't mean I have enough other energy to stay awake. I am probably going to break down and caffeinate.

I've got a WebEx session in fifteen minutes. This guy has a variety of problems, but he'd rather know how to research them himself than have me solve it. I like that idea too.
