  • The original House of Blues, which is in Cambridge, has been sold and will close on September 14th. The announcement went up on HOB's web site on August 29th. Jim's Big Ego was supposed to have an album release party on Saturday, but that got axed. If you read HOB's web site, you'd think the Northeast was being eliminated from the Earth. "We have been in the Boston area for ten years, and we will continue to have a very strong presence there," said Dolf Berle, the Chief Operating Officer of HOB Club Venues. His office is in Los Angeles, a city famed for as much blues as Boston. By the way, there is no future location yet. Why would you sell prime real estate in Harvard "More Expensive Than Necessary" Square unless you're really losing money?
