I had just finished a good round of hugging Munkee after her very painful day. I was walking away from the bed toward the door when I got a sliver of glass stuck in my left heel.
This isn't the first time in the past week. When the repair dude installed the new windows, he had to smash the old ones out. I've swept a couple times but I still find slivers.
I have about a decade of calluses on my feet. My heels are hardened. This means the sliver is now floating in an aspic of epidermis. Notice the present tense: I spent an hour digging with tweezers and nail clippers but I couldn't extract the sliver. Oh, I touched it several times but I could never get a good grip. I must've shoved it deeper.
So I washed the hole I'd carved and poured in polysporin like caulk. It's not a nail. It'll come out when it wants to, right?
By the way, if I'm totally wrong about leaving the sliver in, let me know. Better yet, come by my place and help me get it out. I'll cook you lunch and we can play records. I've got boozes, too. Thursday is my day off.
-almost happy to see tomorrow, Dante
