pseydtonneI thought it was official when I changed my license and registration after living here a year and a half. Then I thought it was when I paid my first excise bill. Maybe, I thought later, it was when I got my first Mass traffic ticket. Oh no, none of these compare to getting my first Notice of Jury Duty.
So no, the ECC Registered RAM I bought on eBay was not in my mail box this afternoon. Instead said box contained a lovely message informing me where I would be on September 7th, 2006 (five years to the day after I lost my job from Textron). I have a little over two months to learn as much as possible about every damn case coming up in southern Middlesex County. I can hardly wait for the questioning.
Defense attorney: "Do you have any previous relationship with the law?"
Me: "My dad was assistant public defender for a decade."
Prosecution attorney: "I would like to exclude this candidate."
Me: "By the way, lemme know how it all works out in case the kid needs an appellate lawyer."
Defense attorney: "Yeah, I'm going with the DA on this one. No one questions my skills."
In other news, I have come up with the names for the future Beowulf boxes. I will break from my tradition of cities on the Pacific and instead use the first names of members of Black Flag. I told![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
tkitch this and he said "naw, you should use --" and started reeling off Lord of the Rings names. I bugged. "No! No ni no no. People have been using those names for twenty years on servers and I don't even dig 'em. Hells no. Dez, Kira, Hank, Mugger. There we go." I'm even off Greg Ginn for the time being because, let's face it: he's Gone.
That's an in joke. I'll explain it upon request. You'd have to put me on the Spot.
