pseydtonne: Behold the Operator, speaking into a 1930s headset with its large mouthpiece. (bright-blessings)

I have a couple tales to tell, but it's late and I should be asleep.

Fast, then: I took a test IBM gives every applicant (I think). It's three kinds of math problems. One is matrices (five by five grids of numbers and you have to figure out pattern changes), next is number patterns and the final is a bunch of word problems. It's timed, it's fast and I probably didn't prove to be the ultimate geek thinker on the first or the last.

The middle one, however, I aced. It's like I was born to figure out the next number in a series. I had four minutes to figure out the next item in a series. There were, like, thirty or so or these. I did all but one.

No, I don't know my score. The system tells me I'm never supposed to find that out. That's fine. Still, someone is going to look at this and say "we want you to figure out what looks like random traffic, pattern boy. If you see anything, let us know."

Meanwhile, at the old job: I won another digital camera! It's a Sony and it's much more compact than the one I gave Maggie. It has this feature where it'll aim a red light toward the target so you can line up a shot and put yourself in it. Fun!

Finally, I am happy! I'd forgotten what this is like. I'm infectiously happy. I'm even listening to happy music. I hope this sticks around for a while.
