pseydtonne: Behold the Operator, speaking into a 1930s headset with its large mouthpiece. (Default)
As of this evening, progress has been stymied by a need to sleep. I shall be asleep in bed (instead of sitting on the couch listening to Over the Rhine) within a few minutes. All hail Hypnos!

Perhaps the lesson is not to put sleep-inducing music into the CD player when I'm already making progress. I had been playing side one of Winning Days by The Vines (thanks to the free copy of it [livejournal.com profile] grace_of_gemini found outside her place), which is lively and oddly similar to Jet's Get Born. I was sorting CDs and getting them into one large stack instead of two dozen little stacks each with an upside-down unsheathed CD on top. I was getting all the empty jewel cases (donated by [livejournal.com profile] tkitch) paired with the orphans. Then I made the mistake of playing one of the orphans.

As of now, the kitchen is clean, although I really need to return the booze bottles that have been sitting since Maggie was here. I cleaned out the fridge, meaning the turkey that's been sitting there for a year is now out of my freezer and there are now two new racks of ice cubes that don't smell faintly of game bird.

The dining table is a mess, but only a third of its typical mess. That will be a project for the morning.

The office is still a sty, but at least I can now stand inside the closet and shuffle large boxes. I can also tell what needs moving into the downstairs locker.

The bedroom is a lot cleaner. Then again, a normal person couldn't tell that.

The couch is a mess. That sounds simple to solve but it isn't somehow. Being overwhelmed by the couch is a hint that I need to sleep.

Time to sleep. Eight hours of rest will solve a lot of issues.
