I picked up [livejournal.com profile] quem98 and took her to a friend's party in Brooklyn. It was good. Then I plotzed in Manhattan, got breakfast and made great time heading to Utica. I made certain to give Yankee Stadium both middle fingers as I passed it on the Deegan Expressway. They had a marquis sign which read "welcome Johnny Damon" the way you'd expect to see "Elks Lodge Wed 8 PM" on a board in front of a motel. I didn't flip the bird for myself as much as I did for the rest of New England. There are so many bitter folks, so I had to help them out.

Christmas Eve I ate with my cousins. We all watched The Hebrew Hammer and everyone had fun. My mother tried to shanghai me into going to church on Xmas morning but I figured her out. I also warned my cousin, whom she had also hoped to snare. Score two for $death(void).

I also wound up talking to [livejournal.com profile] chaggalagirl on the phone for a couple hours. She is thinking about taking a job offer in Sacramento. I think it would give her a great ego boost and a real chance to make a new start. I'm rooting for her to take the drive.

Other stuff happened, almost all of which was good. My cousin is visiting for a week. We've been tidying up the place. It's nice to have a living room again.

I had a busy but 8-hour day at work. I've been trying to destroy my stack since last Monday so that I am no longer worried about what has or has not been tackled. I want to clear the cobwebs. It's working. I feel better about the effort I am making. I can help a lot more because I can handle each thing as it arrives instead of bugging out. Next week I have a bunch of cases I can destroy because there will no longer be the customer excuse of "I was on vacation".

Okay, I'm ready to nap. Actually, I came home from work and just about passed out. Now I'm going to pass out properly.
