pseydtonne: Behold the Operator, speaking into a 1930s headset with its large mouthpiece. (Default)

There is a colorful corporate logo on a slightly-broken LCD monitor. A non-serifed, red capital A with an italicized, yellow lower-case i hovering in front of it and a serifed, green capital X to the right of them. Each of these 3-D letters hang in front of a diamond of blue with ripple waves for its surface. All four of these are turned at a jaunty angle as if the camera were sneaking around the corner to take a picture of them. This image took a little over fifteen minutes to materialize on the screen, as I had only started the installation process leading to this moment a short time ago.

I now have AIX 4.3.3 mostly installed on my RS/6000. I still have a few steps to go, but the base operating system is ready. I did not expect to be at this point so quickly. After all, I am compiling Mozilla Firefox on this budding and faster Gentoo box next to the RS/6000 and that seems to be taking an hour. Mind you, I am getting stuck with the need for getting the documentation from a disc 2 that I do not have. However, that can wait.
